Ex-Tower of London boss loses unfair firing claim (AP)

LONDON ? An employment tribunal has ruled that Tower of London authorities were justified in firing the governor after he criticized the fort's management and its staff of Beefeaters.

Maj. Gen. Keith Cima says he was unfairly dismissed after challenging bullying and rule-breaking at the 900-year-old fortress.

Historic Royal Palaces, which runs the Tower, says he was dismissed for gross misconduct after criticizing them and making derogatory comments about its Yeoman Warders, or Beefeaters.

Judge Harjit Grewal agreed, saying Cima had made "inappropriate, offensive and damaging remarks" about his employer and "failed to accept that he had done anything wrong."

In 2009 the Tower was rocked by claims of bullying against Moira Cameron, the first female Beefeater.
